Middlesex Sheriff James V. DiPaola recently announced that his “Project Outreach” will soon provide volunteer services to Senior Citizens across the 54 communities of Middlesex.
Through the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff’s Association, a non-profit group of concerned citizens who volunteer each year to support Public Safety, Sheriff DiPaola has entered an agreement with Minuteman Senior Services whereby over 600 members of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association will agree to volunteer their time to provide services such as Meals on Wheels and to safety checks on the homes of Senior Citizens.
“The Outreach Program of the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff’s Association has long been a dream of mine” stated Sheriff DiPaola, “thanks to the efforts of the Association President Michael Giacoppa, we will see that dream become a reality. The credit for this unprecedented community outreach should go to the dedicated volunteers of the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff’s Association who annually give of themselves so that others may benefit. I am deeply proud to be associated with such civically minded men and women.”
The collaboration with Minuteman Senior Services will begin servicing the communities of Burlington, Woburn, Lexington and Maynard, but the Outreach Program will then be spread to all 54 Middlesex Cities and Towns.
